Secret Garden Cottages are situated just above (5 minutes walk down, 10 minutes back up) the lovely village of Tremadog with its 2 pubs, award-winning  restaurant, well-regarded fish and chip shop and well-stocked Spar and post office.  The Snowdonia National Park is literally 20 paces from each of the cottages' front doors and it is lovely to walk out into the hills without having to get in a car.

Porthmadog, which is a mile away, has an historic harbour and good selection of independent shops plus a wider range of services including several nice cafes and restaurants, indian and chinese takeaways, Tescos, Aldi and Lidl supermarkets, butcher, baker, greengrocers, banks and chemists.   The leisure centre has a swimming pool, gym, squash, tennis and badminton courts.

Our corner of Wales is getting quite a reputation for being a centre for adventurous activities including the longest zipwire in the Northern Hemisphere and for younger visitors a series of huge underground trampolines (in a space as big as cathedral .  Lonley Planet has named North Wales as one of the top places in the world to visit in 2017
